Kristy Lopez-Bernal is a comedy writer living in New York City. She is currently a writer for TBS's The Detour.
At the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Kristy wrote for various house sketch and video teams — including Beige, One Idiot, Horse + Horse, and Three-Thirds — and co-wrote the sketch show Fuck Nostalgia. She was a regular contributor to Funny Or Die and PYPO. She co-created and wrote the Above Average sketch series Katie: A Lady and the 2014 New York Television Festival Official Selection web series The Brothel and Gary Saves the Graveyard. She has also written original content for Univision, Fusion, People Magazine, and other networks.
Kristy is originally from Miami, FL and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology a couple of times. She is represented by Jonathan Levy and Mackenzie Roussos at UTA.
